Your child has an assigned week to be featured as our "Star of the Week". A couple of the special things we will be doing to honor your child will need your help:

- On Monday morning of your child's "Star" week, he/she should bring in a poster about him/herself. The poster board could include pictures of things your child enjoys doing, pictures of your child and your family, words or phrases to go along with the pictures, etc.

- On Friday morning of your child's "Star" week, he/she should bring in 20-100 items for our Estimation Jar, i.e. marbles, seashells, jacks, bouncy balls, etc. Do not send candy or anything edible. Please keep the items to under 100 and don't let your child count the items before, so he/she can participate in the estimation game. Please send the items to school in a zip-loc bag.

Additionally, your child may bring an item to school each day to share with the class. For example, your child may want to share his/her favorite stuffed animal, toy, book, etc. The item should fit inside your child's backpack. Please do not allow your child to bring any toy weapons, live pets, or hand-held electronic devices (i-Touch, DSI, etc.) for sharing.

In the classroom during your child's "Star" week, each student will participate in making a class book for your child to keep.
