Can my child bring a snack for recess?
No. First graders do not have snack recess because we eat lunch at 11:30. We encourage our first graders to eat a big, healthy breakfast and a good lunch to hold them over until dismissal.Back to Top

No. Because of the growing number of food allergies first grade has gone birthday treat "free." Instead of bringing a snack your child may bring in a special sharing; a favorite toy, trophy etc.Back to Top

What if my child forgets their homework?
Everyone forgets once in a while, so the first time they forget I will remind them to bring it in the following Monday. We are trying to instill the importance of your child being independent and encourage them to return his/her homework on their own.Back to Top

How do I know if a book is at an appropriate level for my child?
A quick test would be to have your child read aloud one page. If your child makes three or more mistakes, the book is at their frustration level, and an easier book should be chosen. However, this would be an excellent book for you to read to your child.Back to Top
