Mrs. Parlett
My name is Mrs. Parlett and I teach 2nd grade at Greenbrook Elementary. I
was born in Boise, Idaho and moved to San Ramon when I was a little baby.
I went to Montevideo Elementary School, Pine Valley, and California High
School. I then ventured down to San Diego State for college. I completed
my teaching credential in 1999 and I moved back to the Bay Area to begin my
teaching career.
I substituted in the SRVUSD for about 2 months and I soon landed a long term
sub position here at Greenbrook. The teacher decided not to come back after
maternity leave, so I was able to take her position in the 2nd grade. This
year will be my 11th year here at Greenbrook. I am the luckiest person to be
teaching here at Greenbrook. I couldn't ask for a better staff, parents,
and students.
I have always known I wanted to become a teacher. When I was in the 1st
grade, I adored my teacher Mrs. Dolan. I wanted to be just like her. I
would go home and pretend to be her. I soon began to teach neighborhood
kids in my garage. I even put on a Cinderella play in my garage for all of
the kids. Teaching is my passion and I would not trade it for anything in
the world. I am so happy I was able to make my dream of teaching come true.
My husband Joe and I live in Danville. We have a 2 year old son named
Jameson and a new baby girl named Bentley. We love to go on walks and go to
the park. We also love to take little trips to Lake Tahoe. Our favorite
vacation spot is Disneyland!
Mrs. Selover
Hello! My name is Jennifer Selover and I’m so excited to be job sharing with
Mrs. Parlett in 2nd Grade this year. This will be my 5th year teaching here
at Greenbrook.
I was born and raised in Bellevue, Washington and after visiting my uncle in
Danville, my family decided to move to Danville. I attended Los Cerros
Middle
School and Monte Vista High School.
I received my BA degree in Human Communication from California State
University Monterey Bay. I worked as a manager in retail for awhile before
pursing my dream of becoming an Elementary school teacher. I also have a
background in early childhood education and worked as a pre-school teacher
at
the Creative Learning Center in Alamo. I received my teaching credential
from
Chapman University.
My husband Jim and I live in Livermore, Ca with our 1 year old daughter Ava
and our two cats! In our free time, we love to walk downtown to the farmers
market to eat Nutella crepes – yum! We also like to go on long walks, hike,
relax at Clearlake, travel, and spend time with family and friends. I’m
looking forward to a great year in 2nd grade!
