Homework will begin in mid October. Every first grader receives the same
homework packet for that week. I will be sending homework home on Monday and
it will be due on Thursday.
It is district policy that first grade students are not to spend more than
15-30 minutes per week night on homework. Your child should complete one paper
from his/her packet each night in addition to reading for 20 minutes. There
are only 4 pages per packet so it should not take him/her all week to
complete. Please do not leave the packet for last minute or push to complete
it all in one night. Help your child to settle into a routine that will last
him/her all year. Please review his/her homework to ensure your child
understands the concept and has performed to his/her best ability. The
homework may change throughout the year as the level of difficulty increases.
Parents will be advised of any such changes.
