Can my child bring a snack for recess?

Yes, we encourage your child to bring a small, healthy snack. Children
are allowed to eat their snack at the green picnic tables.

Can I bring treats for my child's birthday?

No. Because of the growing number of food allergies, Second Grade
has gone birthday "treat-free". Instead of bringing a snack, your
child may bring in a special sharing: a favorite book, toy,
trophy, etc.

What if my child forgets their homework?

Everyone forgets once in a while, so the first time they forget I will remind
them to bring it in the following Monday. After the first time, they will be
asked to do their homework at school the
next day during their recess time.If they did not complete their homework
because of a special event at home (birthday, Grandma's in town, etc.), please
send me a note and let me know when they will be bringing it in.

***We are trying to instill the importance of your child being responsible and
to encourage them to return his/her homework on time.

How do I know if a book is at an appropriate level for my child?

A quick test would be to have your child read aloud one page. If
your child makes three or more mistakes, the book is at their
frustration level, and an easier book should be chosen. However,
this would be an excellent book for you to read to your child,as parents are
great reading role models.

What if my child forgets his/her lunch?

We suggest that you always keep at least five dollars on your
child's card in case of emergency. If they do not have money on
their card, they are given a cheese sandwich, choice of
veggies/fruit from the cart,and a milk.

front office and fill out a pink tardy pass.

the office will call your child's classroom.

Can a sibling go on a field trip?

No. As a parent chaperon you are responsible for the safety of
those students assigned to you. Siblings can be a distraction
that interfere with the learning environment of the field trip.
Also, please no movies for the kids while driving.
