This is my eighth year at Hale and my 16th as a teacher. I am also currently
our school's SAS Coordinator.
I have taught 3rd through 8th grade classes but have truly found my niche
teaching middle school math. I taught in the Burbank Unified School District
and before that, I was a special education aide for several years working at
Beverly Hills High School. I am passionate about teaching and love working
with young people.
I have three children of my own. My oldest daughter is an RN working in an
Acute Care Neo-natal unit here in Los Angeles. My son is an artist and my
youngest daughter attends Moorpark Junior College hoping to become an
engineer one day.
I attended California State University Northridge, was a liberal studies
major with a minor in mathematics, and graduated Magna Cum
Laude. I am currently attending CSUN writing my thesis for my master's
degree in education.
I have worked with the Getty Museum as an education consultant for
their Art and Science program and received significant training through the
Getty. I am deeply committed to the arts and their
importance and value within education.
And finally, I have extensive training working with gifted students. I have
taught gifted students the last nine years of my career and have
considerable experience with meeting their unique needs. My three children
were all designated as such so I understand the gifts and challenges
of parenting these special children. It is my belief however that every one
of us has special strengths, talents, and abilities. We just need to
discover them and then be given the encouragement and skills needed to
succeed.
