I have been teaching for @#*!& years now, and I'll keep doing it until I get
it right! This is my 9th year at Hale Middle School, now Hale Charter
Academy. I have also worked in the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School
District and the Etiwanda School Distrct before heading back to "The Valley"
where I grew up.
My classroom is a comfortable place where students can come by anytime and
see me to ask a question or just talk. I try to create an atmosphere where
everyone feels at home and knows that they belong.
I have a BA in Education from SDSU; an MA in Middle School Education from
CSUSB, and an Administration Services Credential. Additionally, I have
completed over 100 hours of district apporved Gifted and Talented
instructional coursework. All of this is a benefit for instruction in the
S.A.S. Program (School for Advanced Studies), but I offer all students an
enriched experience and opportunities to challenge themselves.
I want to travel the world and see all of the places I that teach about! I
love to read, but can never find enough time. I love young adult literature
and plan to actually sit down and write a book someday! I love to shop, cook,
(bake in particular), watch movies, take pictues, go on mini-adventures,
spend time with family and friends, and have a good laugh! I am forever a
faithful Dodger fan and wish we had a local NFL team, but until then, I'll
cheer for the Chargers!
To boldly go where no class has gone before..... To make a smooth
transition to middle school and for each student to have Personal
Responsibility In Developing Excellence (P.R.I.D.E.)in all that they do!
I am dedicated to promoting P.R.I.D.E. in curriculum, instruction, and
personal behavior. I believe that each child is unique and deserving of a
rich educational environment. I am skilled to teach students and dedicated
to their success. I believe in a student-centered approach and provide an
atmosphere where students work collaboratively and are engaged in hands-on
learning activities.
