Welcome to Journalism.
We produce the school newspaper, The Stargazer. Bring story ideas to class this week. The goal is to make the newspaper an 'e-zine' so cut back on paper consumption. The Stargazer is going green! Ethan Waldman will be our first editor in chief.
In addition, we will be producing a literary magazine, also an e-zine with the possibility of print edition, at least twice this school year.
Another possibility for our class is to create a community outreach publication.
Working with Mrs. Welsh, we may also be helping with the Yearbook in terms of proofreading and possibly some other activities.
I have a field trip planned for this class to visit the Skirball just before winter break. It is journalism related. I also have speakers lined up to come and speak to the class about careers in communications. If any of you have a parent, relative or friend who works in communications / journalism, let me know and they may also wish to speak to the class.
