What should I do if I'm absent?

If ever you are absent, there are a few things you should do.
*If you know ahead of time that you'll be absent, let me know and I can give you your work before
you are gone; thus, making your absence as unobtrusive as possible.
*If you are out because of illness, you will have at least as many days that you were absent to make
up your missing work without losing credit for timeliness.
*If you are out for a personal reason (i.e., vacation), you will need to turn in work upon return, in
order to avoid losing credit for timeliness.
*It is up to the student to make up all missing work due to absence.
*Also, be sure to have a study-buddy to call and/or take notes during any absence.

How can I earn Service Hours?

There are so many ways to reach out to our community! From peer-tutoring to altar serving to safety
patrol to helping someone in need, you can do something you like to do to earn credit. Just ask to make
sure your activity will give you credit before you do the hours.

Do you give extra credit?

No, I don't believe in extra credit. I believe in the curriculum. Completing a packet of worksheets won't
make up for missed learning. Do your best and you will succeed! If you have troubles on an
assignment, be sure to talk to me about it.

Will there be any group work/projects?

Yes, I'm a big advocate of collaborative learning (group work). There will be a variety of ways we work
together.

Do you give a lot of homework?

This greatly depends on what we can cover in class together. Seventh graders will average
approximately 90 minutes of homework nightly; this means uninterrupted, focused time. Depending
on procrastination factors, this time may vary according to the project deadline and work done along
the way. Be proactive!
