Welcome to the Iron House School Website!

The Iron House Staff is working diligently to ensure academic success for your child. We are proud of our staff and their commitment to excellence. We are a California Distinguished School, and have worked hard to help every child reach their ultimate potential. Throughout the year, teachers are busy assessing students to ensure all benchmarks are being met. We are giving the Houghton Mifflin Summative Assessment and the Math Benchmark Assessments then reviewing results to refer students to the appropriate intervention programs for extra help and differentiating curriculum in the classroom as well.

This year we are implementing an early bird/late bird schedule for kindergarten. This will ensure that students will have quality time in Language Arts period with only 15 students.

Also new this year is the Language! program for fourth and fifth grade students that scored far below basic on STAR testing. This program should provide all students with the opportunity to excel in reading/language arts.

As a “Caring School Community” we value having our parents and community members to be a part of our school. If you would like to volunteer call your classroom teacher or our office to help. Our school prides itself in the respectful environment that it provides for our students. Class meetings are held frequently as a part of our culture that gives students a voice in the school community. Children feel empowered to take risks with their learning and to give them a forum to speak out if they feel something needs to change.

As a principal, I am often out on the play ground, cafeteria, or at parent pick up or drop off to ensure your child is safe and to lend an extra hand. I truly enjoy your children and work hard to know who they are and their names and grade levels. I am available to meet with parents, and am willing to help out any way I can to provide a great educational experience for you and your child.
