I have been fortunate enough for the past four years to be part of an organization that allows me to take students overseas and experience a culture and environment different than our own. Students who are part of this program have been nominated from a former teacher due to their high academics or excellent citizenship at school. I normally travel with junior high students but there are programs available for middle school and high school students as well. We tend to travel during the summertime and the trips are approximately 2-3 weeks long. The students come away with a much greater appreciation and pride for their country as well as a more tolerant attitude towards others.

This program has given me the opportunity to travel with former students of mine to places like France, England, Australia, Italy and Malta.
