About The Teacher

Welcome to Mrs. Macaulay's Physical Education Home Page!!!

I love being a Physical Education teacher. I have found that my overall
philosophy of teaching and coaching has developed through my own personal
experiences I encountered during my youth in softball and in school. My
experiences are the reason why I coach the way I do now. I have used my
experiences to better my own coaching style. I value the mistakes I have
seen, and do my best to re-evaluate how I can make the experience better for
my students, and my own children now that I am a mother.

I believe that physical education should teach not only the physical
(skill/fitness areas) of PE (as you might remember it), but also the
affective and cognitive areas that can be connected to physical education as
well. Students will work towards making individual improvements within their
physical activities throughout the course of the year. They will be able to
tie in their thinking skills (cognitive) with the different physical
activities they learn. They will understand why physical activity is
important and how it can benefit them for a lifetime. Students will also
learn life lessons through actively partipating in physical activities,
displaying good behavior and attitude, and showing effort and improvement
within their daily assignments. All activities will support at least one of
the 7th/8th grade physical education standards (posted on the website as
well).

Mission For The Class

It is my goal to provide a safe and energetic learning environment for all
students in which they can challenge themselves to become “Fit for Life”. I
believe Physical Education is a subject which should be valued to all
students. My goal is to ensure that all students can learn why exercise is
important to their life in the future, and give them opportunities to be
physically active for a lifetime.
