I received my Bachelor of Science Degree and teaching credential in Physical
Education from San Jose State University.
In the early 1990's I went back to school and earned my Masters Degree in
Sports and Fitness Management from the University of San Francisco.
This my 28th year of teaching Physical Education. I taught at Notre Dame
High School in Belmont for 16 years. During this time, I was the Head of the
Physical Education Department, the Athletic Director, and coach of the tennis
team.
After leaving Notre Dame High School I worked at Westgate Rehab and Specialty
Care Center in San Jose as a Recreational Therapist. For four and a half
years I was responsible for planning recreational programming for the
residents in the facility.
For three years I taught at Bowditch Middle School in San Mateo. I found
myself getting tired of the long commute and I interviewed with the Cupertino
School District. I was hired to teach at Kennedy Middle School. I enjoyed
my six years at Kennedy before accepting my current position at Lawson Middle
School.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy the following: playing tennis, attending
theater, watching movies, working in my garden, and spending time with
friends and family.
