Greetings students and parents! Welcome to my teacher website :) I was born and raised in the Almaden
Valley of San Jose. I grew up in a household with parents that were educators and coaches. I have been a
proud participant in various sports and extracurricular activities and will continue to be as long as my
good health allows it. In middle school and high school I played football, basketball, and baseball. I
continued my education and athletic career at UC Davis where I was a member of the 34th and 35th
consecutive winning seasons for the Aggies football team. I graduated in 2005 with a BA in
Communications and a Minor in Sociology with an emphasis on Law and Society. I also completed my
Masters in Education from National University in 2008. I have been involved in coaching Football at
Foothill College, and Basketball and Track at Lawson. When I am not working, I like to spend time with
close friends and family, exercise, listen to music, play sports, read a good book, and learn about the
world around me.
My Mission is to teach the enumerable health benefits of physical activity to my students in a
format that provides a safe, comfortable environment that is conducive to learning. I want to develop
self-awareness, and have my students grow academically, physically, and socially. I want my enjoyment
and passion for physical fitness to transcend into the students' lives beyond the classroom. Additionally
I aspire to immerse my students in a differentiated set of physical activities while celebrating our
diversity and unique talents and connecting learning with the State Content Standards. I want my
students to view each other as respected individuals and as valued members of teams. I want my classes
to have fun while experiencing the positive effects of activity, and I want them to understand the
important role physical fitness plays in a well rounded education, and a happy body and mind.
