Library Policies

Borrowing Privileges

  • Kindergarten Students may check out one book only *

  • Students in Grade 1 may borrow one book from August - December, and two books beginning in January. *
  • Students in Grade 2 - Grade 5 may borrow up to two items **
  • Students in Grades 6-8 may borrow up to five items**
  • Library accounts must be resolved by the end of the school year.

*Under special circumstances an exception can be made. (Your Kindergarten / First grade teacher will make the determination and a contract must be signed first.)

** This does not include classroom assigned books **

Teacher Borrowing Privileges

  • Teachers may borrow books for their classroom use.
  • Staff and faculty are expected to pay for lost and damaged items that have been checked out under their name.
  • Library accounts must be resolved by the end of the school year

Overdue, Lost, or Damaged Items

  • Students with any overdue items will not be able to check out additional items until the overdue items are returned or the bill was resolved.
  • All items are checked out for two weeks. We will renew the book if the student is still working on it, however, the book must physically be brought into the library.
  • There are no fines for overdue materials. Please return your books on time. Sharing resources is a sign of good citizenship.
  • A $10 processing fee is added to the cost of the book if a book is happens to be lost or damaged. Another option is to purchase a BRAND NEW COPY for the library.
  • A refund is not guaranteed. We replace items on a regular basis.
