How long can I keep my library book?
Library books are checked out for 2 weeks and can be renewed for
another 2 weeks, unless the book is very popular. If your
student has an overdue book you will receive a notice on your
library day.
What happens if I lose my library book?
Lost library books need to be paid for by students. Librarians
are not able to refund money if the book is paid for and later
found. Students will not receive their report card/year book if
they have a missing library book at the end of the school year.
Damaged books will also need to be paid for or replaced.
What is a damaged library book?
Books with covers torn off, pages torn out, chewed by pets or
have had food or drink spilled on them, books with broken
bindings are all considered damaged books.
When can my student visit the library?
Your student will visit the library weekly with their class. Go
to the Library Class Schedule to view their scheduled time. The
library is also open before school from 7:50-8:10 a.m. and after-
school from 2:50-3:30.
Why can't my child check out a young teen book?
We have a designated area of the library set aside for our
middle school students. If your child wants to read a
particular title we have in our young teen collection(and they
are 5th grade and under), they are welcome to check out that
title at the Livermore Public Library.
What is the AR Race?
Each class works together through reading books and taking AR
test to earn points for their class. This race is designed to
encourage children to read. It is fun to see their competitive
spirit between the classes. This race runs from September to
May of each year. This years theme will be decided by the classes
and will be posted when it has been decided. (Get your creative
ideas ready!)
