Here is some information about me...

I've been teaching at Adventist elementary schools for about 20 years. Most
of my experience has been in kindergarten and 3rd grade. I have a Bachelor's
degree in Music, and a Master's degree in Elementary Education, both from La
Sierra University. I have both a denominational and a California State
credential. I also completed a week-long workshop in Choice Theory/Lead
Management through the William Glasser Institute.

My husband Jeff and I have 3 children. Brian, 24, received his MBA from La
Sierra University's School of Business and Management this past June, as is
working at gojane.com as accountant/controller. Jordan, 21, is taking a break
from college, is working several days a week, and works out or plays
basketball almost every day. Katie, 17, is in 11th grade here at LLA and
enjoys volleyball, soccer, and singing.

Jeff is the Director of Development for the School of Business Administration
at the University of California - Riverside, and is an avid golfer.

In my free time (?!?) I enjoy being with my family, hanging out with friends,
reading, cooking and baking, traveling, eating cupcakes, playing Words With
Friends (play me!!!), and of course, frog collecting. I am an amateur golfer
as well, and I love it when I can actually hit the ball straight!

Some of my goals this year...

This year in 3rd grade I will be teaching the students the academic material
they need to learn, and will help them organize their materials so they can
successfully complete their assignments. Each one of my students is unique
and special, with their own unique talents, abilities, and learning styles.
I'll be working to identify those learning styles, so I can teach each student
in the most effective way.

Most importantly, I hope to convey to my students the wonderful love that God
has for each one of them. My hope and prayer is that each student not only
learn their "3 R's", but also that Jesus is their very best friend and that He
loves each one of us unconditionally. My desire is that each one of my students
learns to accept and appreciate the unique differences in the people around
them, and to treat all those around them with love and respect.
