Thank you to our Room Mom, Kristen for the vision and the execution, to Philippe for his delicious chili (I went back 3 times!) and to our PARENTS for all your hard work in making the Chili Cook-Off such a success. The students enjoyed the theme and the part they played. I now have the students’ grape clusters displayed in the room for more BIBLE-WRITING activities.

Friday, October 2 - Denim Day
· On October 2, students can wear jeans if they bring a $5 donation for the Women’s Cancer Programs. All donations will contribute to many worthwhile programs for treatment and awareness of women’s cancer issues.
· There will be a box at drop-off THIS FRIDAY for students to give their donation. If students are not participating in Denim Day they must still wear their uniforms.
· If you would like to donate more, we encourage you to visit the Garland’s own Denim Day team page at -- www.denimday.com/team_page.aspx?tid=236582.
Heidi Garland is a parent here at LACS for those of you who do not know her. She is a cancer survivor herself.

FIRST FIELD TRIP this WEDNESDAY
Our 1st Fourth Grade field trip is this Wednesday, September 24. We will be participating in a nature hike at the Filoli Estate in Woodside. We will be traveling by bus, leaving at 9:30 and returning in time for lunch here at school. Your child should wear his/her long uniform pants and layer with a uniform sweatshirt or fleece, just in case the weather is chilly. Each child should also bring a water bottle for the hike. Have your child eat a hearty breakfast, as there are no snacks allowed on the bus or on the hike.
THANK YOU to our Chaperones
