Miss Snedaker has been teaching art at Los Altos Christian School for 12
years. She attended Point Loma Nazarene University where she received a
bachelors degree in Studio Arts. Encouraging the students in their creative
expression is something she considers a joy and gift to be able to do each
day.
Currently, she also is a volunteer leader of the high school ministry at her
church, PBC Cupertino, and meets with a group of about 12 girls each week to
study God's Word, pray together for each other, and just to walk along side
them through their journeys of life and faith.
Some interesting things that Miss Snedaker has experienced; she worked 6
summers at a Christian Horse Ranch for jr. high and high school kids, took a
road trip around the US one summer, and has been to Romania on a
missions trip.
Some of her hobbies include journaling, reading, eating sushi :),
photography, drawing (of course), and spending time with friends. Some
things that make her smile: coffee, the rain, white clouds in a sunny sky,
big weather, a good conversation, a fire in the fireplace, dark chocolate,
the change of seasons,(ok, nature in general) and of course teaching art to
kids.
How exciting to have another year of creating and exploring the world of art
with the students of LACS!
We will be looking at art from different countries and cultures, discovering
the art and techniques of various artists, learning about some of the
concepts of art (color theory, balance, perspective, drawing and design
elements, etc.), as well as using many different kinds of art materials. And
hopefully we'll be having a lot of fun doing it!
