NewsFlash

Bio 3 students:
I have created some confusion regarding the field trip due next week. It is listed as ecosystems in the syllabus but I actually posted for you was the California Science center World of Life very early in the semester.  The world of life and the ecosystems exhibit are both in the California science center.  It is your choice which of them to do. I have posted the handouts for both online in the handouts to be downloaded.

The discussion of  Eric Pianka et al paper is postponed to next Tuesday, the 8th.  The practicum is postponed to next Tuesday as well.  The next midterm is Thursday the 10th.  I will start covering behavior on this coming Thursday the 3rd.
Students who have not yet signed up for the ecology paper discussion session need to sign up next week for the James Brown paper.

In chapter 2, do all of the multiple choice questions at the end of the chapter.
Internet 1 and internet 2 are now posted.  Chapter 3 lecture is posted.
I have posted all three field trips in the handout section.  The first lecture notes and the syllabus are also posted. Look for more postings this weekend.

On the home page, click on Library, and then click on E-Reserve. Near the bottom of the page you will find a list of articles listed under my name, Dr. Yoder. To access them you need the password. Log in as “student” and the password is “lahclibrary311”.  (or it may be guest1 for login name and guest1 for password).

I have put some reading quizzes at the publisher's website.
The publisher's website Mastering Biology
 http://masteringbiology.com/site/register/new-students.html
My course number there is MByoder02033
you will need a password which should be supplied with your text (unless you bought it used)
The quizzes are not critical for passing the course, but every little bit helps I think.
Bio 101 students.  Errors in the syllabus chapter readings.
This weeks lecture on the cell is from Chapter 6 of your text, not chapter 4.  Also in week 3 the early earth history is in chapter 25 and includes pages 507-524, not in chapter 22.  The new edition has made some changes in order of chapters.
