What is AR?

AR stands for Accelerated Reader. It is a motivational reading
program. Students read books within their reading level and take
computerized comprehension tests to earn points toward meeting
individual trimester goals. Students have daily silent reading
time in class and should be reading at least an additional 20
minutes at home.

If my child is absent, how can I get missed work for the day?

Please call the office and request to pick up your child's missed
work. At the end of the school day, the work will be in the
office ready to be picked up. We encourage parents to request
missed work as it will help your child avoid falling behind
during an absence.

When is homework due?

What are Friday Folders?

Friday Folders go home each Friday and contain your child's
graded work from the week. Unfinished work will also be placed
in Friday Folders if students are falling behind on classwork.
If your child comes home with unfinished work in his/her Friday
Folder, that work needs to be completed over the weekend and
returned Monday. Please take time to review your child's work
each week, sign and date the inside cover of the folder and have
your child return his/her Friday Folder every Monday.

How are birthdays celebrated?

You may bring in a special treat for your child's birthday. If
you are able to bring the treat in the morning we will sing and
pass out the treat at the most convenient time during the day.
