About The Teacher

Ms. Tuchman was born in Connecticut and went to college at George Washington
University in Washington, D.C. After college she spent three years living in
New York City, but now feels that southern California is truly her home.
Ms. Tuchman has taught 5th grade at Chaparral, Willow, and Sumac Elementary
School and is thrilled to be beginning her 2nd year in 5th grade at MATES.
Ms. Tuchman has three children, Alex (18), Zach (15) and Grace (11). Her warm
teaching style reflects learning that is enthusiastic, creative and
empowering. In Ms. Tuchman's class students work hard and play hard, so
fasten your seat belt and ENJOY the ride!

When Ms. Tuchman is not busy teaching, planning lessons, grading, or working on her
master's
degree she loves to spend time with her family and her Westies, Riley and Winston.
She loves to read (she's in a book club with some of her best friends),cook,
bake, watch the Food Network, knit, go to the movies, and can often be found
on her computer; checking e-mail, working on this web site, or listening to i-Tunes.

Mission For 5th Grade

I believe that all students can succeed and fulfill their personal potential.
It is essential that we strive to be life-long learners. I want my students
to be as well prepared for middle school as they can be. We will focus on
RESPONSIBILITY this year and by having students take ownership of that
responsibility I know that they will embrace the challenges and succeed this
year, in middle school and throughout their lives.

I value my connections with my students and I believe that through those
connections I can make a difference in their lives.
