Our100th Dayof school was a huge success! Thank you to all the parents for sending in items for the students trail mix. They did a great job grouping and sorting the trail mix into 10’s and counting to one hundred. The students made beautiful 100 day hats, 100 day glasses, listened for Zero the Hero, wrote about their 100 items and filled in their very own 100 chart. WOW. It was a fun and festive learning day!!
This week we focused on the letter Hh. We sang a song about Hannah who had the hiccups… the kids LOVED this one! Ask them to sing it to you. J We also learned the sight word “here”.
This week was also full of learning about real bears. We learned about panda bears on Monday, polar bears on Wednesday, and grizzly bears on Thursday. We wrote a few facts about our furry friends and drew an illustration to go along with it for our wonderfulMy Bear Book. On Friday, we wrote about our favorite bear. Ask the children to read you theirs!
Math
In math we are continuing to work on number writing and sequencing. The children are still having trouble with writing some of their numbers. In addition to filling in our 100 chart we also did an activity where the children had to practice counting various objects and writing the amount they grabbed out of the bucket.
We also did a color by number polar bear and a bear where they had to color in only the triangles among other shapes. Super tricky!
