Dear Parents,
Tomorrow is our field trip to the Trabuco Canyon Field Study Program.
Please send your child with a disposable lunch and drink. Students should
wear clothes and shoes appropriate for hiking. Arrive promptly to school and
eat a healthy breakfast. We will leave campus as soon as we take roll.
Last week we completed our first language arts theme skills test. The
score sheet for this test will come home in tomorrow's homework folder. If
you have questions about the test please call, email, or drop by room 33. We
can also review the test at the November parent conference. I will not be
sending out progress reports. Grades are online. Your access and password
information was included in the Back to School Night packet.
In tonight's homework folder is the class phone and email list. Many
thanks to our room mom, Mrs. Depreta-Johnson, for compiling this list. Also
in the folder is a $5 gift certificate for Dick's Sporting Goods for 100%
class participation in today's jog-a-thon. The Melinda Heights PTA earned
over $20,000 at this event. Wow! Thank you for your generous donations.
Tonight we begin reviewing for our time and money math chapter test. We
will take the test next week. Tomorrow night the students will bring home a
graded Quick Check to review and correct. Your help is greatly appreciated.
This week we began studying the solar system in science. The culminating
activity for this unit is our class play. "Vacation to Mars." Please mark
your calendars for the morning of December 15th. We will be performing the
play with Mrs. Cline's class in the MPR at 9 A.M.
Other dates to take note of are as follows:
November 2............. Staff Development Day / No school for students
November 11............ Veteran's Day / No school
November 13 - 20....... Parent Conferences / Minimum Day, Dismissal at 1:15
November 26 & 27....... Thanksgiving break / No school
