Message from the Principal

Principal Photo
Welcome to Mesa View Middle School where every student has the opportunity to soar their way to success by demonstrating their personal best! The 3 Rs (Respect Yourself, Respect Others, and Respect the Environment) as practiced by our students and staff continue to enrich our scholarly environment. Mesa View is home to the Ocean View School District’s Gifted and Talented Education (G.A.T.E.) magnet program. In addition to the G.A.T.E. magnet program, we provide a challenging Honors program, comprehensive grade level program, as well as a variety of intervention programs in a concentrated effort to reach the needs of all students.

As we look ahead to the coming year, we strive to build upon our successes. This past year, our API soared to 891, a 40 point growth leading to a state school ranking in the 10th decile. It is not a coincidence with such high performances from our students, their attendance rate was at an all time high as well.

On behalf of the Mesa View staff, I would like to wish our students and families a healthy and relaxing summer vacation. We are looking forward to the 2011-2012 school year, working together to create optimal learning opportunities for all of our students. I look forward to another successful year!
