Up Coming Events:
November:
STUDENTS ARE RECEIVING GRADE PRINT OUTS IN SCIENCE TODAY! The reports state their current grades as of today. More assignments will be
graded and included in their overall grades before the end of the trimester on Tuesday, 11/25. Students may turn in missing assignments
(those they received 0 points for) up until Tuesday. "RNTG" on the grade reports refer to their science workbooks. All other assignments can be
found in the "extras folders" in class.
Students will have a test on Thursday 11/13 for Topazes and Friday 11/14 for Sapphires, Amethysts and Rubies. Every kid has a yellow study
guide to help them prepare. Students will be asked to complete a portion of the study each night for homework (check the homework page for
details). This test should be pretty straight forward for kids who follow the study guide. Please encourage your child to see me with questions
sooner rather than later.
October:
Upper pod sixth graders will participate in a canoeing field trip during the first week of October. Please see your child's permission slip for more
details. The Sapphire class is scheduled to go on Yom Kippur. We were unable to reschedule this date through Save the Bay so students who
will be absent due to the holiday can go on another day with another class. I apologize for any inconvenience. Please call/email me with
questions.
September:
Thursday 9/18 and Friday 9/19 all sixth graders will be participating in California
Coastal Clean-Up! I look forward to meeting parent volunteers on this fun day in the sun
(hopefully!) We will reschedule if it rains...
Science textbooks will be sent home the week of 9/22.
Students should keep textbooks at home until JUNE! Parents, please help your child keep their
textbook in a safe, well known place. Students will need their textbooks to complete many
homework assignments.
