Beginning Band (5th grade students only):
Date and times of first lessons at the Elementary schools:
Tam Valley- Tuesday- 8:30- 10:00 (9/23 first lesson)
Strawberry- Monday- 12:40- 2:10 (9/15 first lesson- we will start a week before the other schools
because of outdoor ed. on the 22nd)
Edna Maguire- 10:10- 12:00 (9/25 first lesson)
Old Mill- 8:30- 9:50 (9/25 first lesson)
Park- 12:50- 2:45 (9/25 first lesson)
Rehearsals at MVMS on Wed. from 2:15- 3:00. First rehearsal will be on 10/8.
Intermediate Band (5B):

Advanced Band (2A):
Rehearsals on Monday's (9:49- 10:51) and Wednesday's (12:52- 1:54)

Rehearsals: every Wednesday and Friday from 7:45- 8:30 am. First rehearsal is 9/24.

MVSD Band Calendar (2008- 2009):
10/27- Wind Ensemble rehearsal at lunch
10/28- Wind Ensemble performance: rehearsal 7:30- 8:45 am (gym)/ assembly for MVMS period
3B/ concert at MVMS 7 pm. Wear music t-shirt for school assembly and nice clothes for night
performance.
12/17- Winter Band Concert: All bands 7 pm (gym)- *Students need to meet in the band room
before 6:30 pm. Nice clothes (boys- ties, nice shoes, dress pants or khaki pants, button up shirt/
girls- dresses, dress pants and nice top, or skirt that is below the knee).
***Beginning band will rehearse on Wed. (12/17) after school at the usual time and we will have
lessons at the Elementary schools on Thursday 12/18.
***Middle School bands will not rehearse on Friday (12/19). There will also be no Jazz Band on
12/19. Our schedule will return to normal the first day back from Winter Break.
2/9- Chamber Concert: Throckmorton Theatre/ by audition only/ 7:30 pm. Nice clothes.
TBA (April)- Discovery Kingdom (Marine World) Band Tour: Wind Ensemble, Advanced Band, Jazz
Band/ All day. Wear music dept. t-shirts.
6/11- Spring Band Concert: All bands 7 pm (gym)
TBA- Spring Tours to the Elementary Schools: Wind Ensemble only
TBA (June)- Scholarship Auditions
