My child is not doing well in school. What should I do?

The first step is to speak to your child to find out why they are 
not doing
well. Then make arrangements for conference(s) with their teacher
(s). You
can schedule for a conference by contacting the Counselling
Office.

What help is available for my child?

Begin by asking their teacher to find out what they think may be 
the
problem. There is afterschool tutoring available on selected
days. You may
contact the office to find out where and when your child may go
for
tutoring.

How can I monitor my child's progress more frequently?

There are progress report forms available in the Counselling 
office. This
form may be filled out by their teachers on a daily, weekly or
monthly
basis. This will allow parents to find out how they are doing
prior to the
quarterly progress reports.

What is the School for Advanced Studies (SAS) program?

The SAS program is designed to provide students with a high-
level, rigorous
and advanced academic program.

When can students apply for the SAS program?

The period for applying is from May 3 - May 28. Applications are 
usually
available in early Spring.

How do I find out more information about Millikan and other programs?

We offer school tours on most Thursdays.  Tours begin at 8:00 AM 
and usually
lasts about an hour. Please call before you come to make sure
that there
will be a tour that day.
