How do I get in touch with you if I have questions or comments?

Fastest way to reach me is through email. I do my best to return all
emails before the end of the school day. My address is
mbritto@pleasanton.k12.ca.us, or you can click on the silver mailbox on
the home page to link you directly with my email.

How do I know my child's nightly homework assignments?

Students are given a homework spiral on the first day of school. This
should be kept inside of a spiral binder throughout the school year. The
nightly assignments are written by the students in the appropriate
boxes. I require that parents review these assignments nightly and sign
the bottom of the entry as part of the students' homework.

Also, homework assignments are posted on this site by clicking the
homework/backpack icon. It is a good idea to check regularly as
sometimes I may need to add or delete something from the list.

When is my child VIP? What does this entail?

Every student is selected as the VIP for one week during the school year. A
calendar can be found inside of your back-to-school night packet. There is
also a calendar on the VIP wall for students to view. The calendar is also
posted on the announcements page of this website. On the Friday before
their VIP week, your child will bring home a VIP newspaper to fill out with
information about themselves. This should be brought back on Monday to be
displayed along with other items of interest your child would like to share
with their classmates (photos, memorabilia, favorites, etc). Please be sure
that the items are not valuable or breakable as they remain on the VIP shelf
for the week. VIPs also recieve special seating on the couch or the
mushrooms chairs during reader's workshop and silent reading time and act as
my classroom helper for the week.

My child forgot their math workbook. Can we get a printout off the internet?

Yes!! No more running back to school in search of the custodian! Go to the
links page from my home page. You will find a link for Scott Foresman
Math. Follow the directions and you can print off the same workbook page as
was assigned for that night.

I would like to volunteer in the classroom. What should I do?

Ask the front office for a "Volunteer Clearance Form." Fill it out
and "Welcome aboard!"

I would like to drive on field trips. What should I do?

Ask the front office for a "Permission to Drive Students in Privately Owned
Vehicle" form. Fill it out and submit a copy of your driver's insurance
proving that you are covered for 100,000 and 300,000. In addition, you need
to fill out a Volunteer Clearance Form which can be found in the front
office.

We'd like to bring our family pet to share for VIP week. What should we do?

Stop by the front office and fill-out a permission form to bring in your
pet. Mrs. Sehrt must sign-off on it. Then drop me an email so we can
schedule the best day for you to come in. Typically it will be Monday
morning right after the bell.
