What happens if I turn something in late?

Late assignments may be turned in within 2 weeks of the original
due date. They will not be accepted after that time for points.
They are also automatically reduced by 20%. It is important to
get assignments in on time and fully completed. If you are
absent, please check the Homework Binder to make up work. If you
do turn in an assignment after the 2 week time period,
it is counted as "Count as Zero"; This means that the student was
willing to do the work. The benefit is that students can ask for
extra credit, if ALL assignments have been turned in.

How can I get extra credit?

All assignments must have been turned in, in order to do extra
credit. Then ask Mrs. Hendricks for extra credit. You can also
answer additional questions on certain assignments given by the
teacher. Sometimes supplies are needed for class. EC may be given
for those supplies.

How do I make up absent work?

If you were absent, you should first contact a study buddy that
day, if possible. When you return, go to the HW BINDER. You will
find an DAILY SCIENCE LOG which tells you what was collected,
checked or stamped, what was assigned and when it is due, what we
did in class and what future due dates are. If there is a handout
that you need, look behind the Daily Science Log sheet and find
out what it looks like. Then go to the HANDOUT BOX and take a
handout. You need to copy any notes taken on the day of absence
from a friend in class. Missed tests need to be made up on the
day after a test or on Thursday at 12:20pm during lunch. If you
need extra help, please see Mrs. Hendricks or a responsible
friend.

How do I make up a lab if I am absent?

Get a lab write up from the handout box or copy any lab that was
written on the board from the Homework Binder. Then see Mrs.
Hendricks for data. You will be required to finish the lab with
the data provided to you. Alternate work may be assigned as well.

How often are grades updated on Parent Connect?

Usually about every 2 or 3 weeks, depending on when assignments
are turned in. Mrs. Hendricks may e-mail notices to people when
they are updated. The ease and time it takes to adjust to this
new system may determine the ability to e-mail these updates. To
sign up for Newsflashes, visit the Newsflash page and enter your
e-mail address there.
