Attention ALL students! Please make sure you have turned off your phone and other electronics BEFORE you come to school in the morning. These items cannot be used before school on campus. Failure to follow this rule will result in a violation and confiscation.

Congratulations to our 7th Grade Boys Basketball team – they are league Co-Champions. You make O’Hara Park Middle School proud! Players; Brett Bausola, Eric Bergen, Taijion Collins, Corey Combs, Josh Faber, Michael Gomes Figueira, Trevor Fleming, George Flores, Talor Garrison, Mason Gessini, Carlos Hirahoka, Setu Kirksey, Jeremy Lepore, Caden Lewis, and Jordan Vreonis.

The 7th Grade Boys Basketball pizza party will be held next Wednesday, March 4th – 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. You will need to turn in your uniforms at that time.

Soccer Tryouts continue today. Girls will begin at 3:15 pm and will run every day through Tuesday, March 3rd. Boys’ soccer tryouts will begin at 3:15 pm and will continue through Wednesday, March 4th.

7th Grade Girls Volleyball tryouts will start next Monday, March 2nd, from 6-7:30. Players must have a signed permission slip to participate.

Track practice starts next Wednesday, March 4th at 3:15.

Don’t forget to Smile! Spring Picture day will be on Friday, March 6th. Order forms will go home this week. Only students that are PRE-PAYING for pictures will be photographed. Please inform your parents.

Join the Laurel School Community, past and present, to raise money to honor George Paiva with a scholarship in his name. The fundraiser dinner will be in the Laurel School Multi-purpose Room on Friday, February 27th, 4:30pm-6:30pm.  CLICK HERE for more information. Deadline to RSVP to Laurel School is today.

Did you know that in Swahili, the word for friend is ‘Rafiki’? ASB is selling Rafikis starting Monday at lunch in Rooms 42 and 43. These cool handmade pieces are made by mothers in Kenya and help to provide things like clean water, school supplies and health care to children and families in need. Rafikis can be worn as a bracelet, headband, necklace or anklet – supplies are limited so act fast!

February is Black History Month. As a way to celebrate, we will be reading a quote from African Americans each day. We hope that you really listen to these quotes, and realize that each of you is unique and EQUALLY amazing.

PTSA is having a BoxTops contest. The prize is a “Family Movie Night.” The winner will receive gift cards for Redbox and Little Caesars Pizza. For a chance to win, all you have to do is take BoxTops to Mrs. Pennock in the Library. For every 10 BoxTops (trimmed and not expired) that you turn in, you will get 1 ticket for the drawing. The winner will be announced on March 10th.
