I am the oldest of three girls and have always had a love of teaching and helping my younger sisters. I have lived in Oakley for the past 21 years and love that I get to teach at the middle school I attended. After graduating from Freedom High School, I received my B.A. in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Mathematics from Cal State Hayward, and continued my education there, receiving both my Multiple Subject Credential and a Supplemental Credential in Mathematics.
This is my seventh year teaching in Oakley and my fourth year at O'Hara Park. I love math; it has always been one of my favorite subjects, and I am lucky that I get to teach what I love! Algebra, and math in general, is a hard subject. Many students enter my room with years of bad experiences with the subject. My main goal as a teacher is not to get my students to love math or even to like it, of course I would love it if they did, but to be more confident in their ability to succeed in math. Through confidence and success, students can really begin to appreciate and look forward more to math, and possibly love the subject as much as I do.
