Grade Five: Discover Works- Houghtin Mifflin
Students are introduced to the concepts of physical sciences, life sciences
and earth sciences. In physical science, students learn topics such as
elements, compounds, the different states of matter and how atoms and
molecules are different from each other.
In life sciences, students learn topics such as how multicellular organisms
have specialized structures for respiration, digestion, waste disposal and
transport of material.
In earth science, students learn topics such as how water moves between the
ocean and land through the process of evaporation and condensation. Students
will also learn about how energy from the sun causes air movements that
result in changing weather patterns.
