Genetics: Meiosis; reproduction methods of sexual and asexual organisms; 
Mendellian genetics; structure of DNA; difference between DNA and RNA; 
genetically transmitter diseases; Sex-linked diseases; Advances in genetics

Evolution: Biological evolution accounts for diversity of species; genetic 
variation; Charles Darwin and natural selection; evidences from geology; 
Extinction of species

Living Systems: Skeletal system; Circulatory system; structure of eye and 
vision, how light can be reflected, refracted and absorbed by matter.



Mathematics Content Standards
Grade Seven: Pre-Algebra

Number Sense: Rational numbers; addition, subtraction, multiplication and 
division of rational numbers, percentage of increase and decrease of 
quantity; discounts, markups, commissions, profit and loss, simple interest 
and compound interest; exponents, powers and roots; absolute value; perfect 
square integer and to calculate the square root of an imperfect square 
(without a calculator).

Algebra and Functions: Write an expression, equation, inequality or a system 
of equations or inequalities from a verbal description; order of operation; 
properties of rational numbers; use of algebraic terminology; monomials, 
binomials and trinomials; graph functions and calculate slope.

Measurement and Geometry: Compare weights, capacities, times and 
temperatures 
within and between measurement systems; compute perimeter, area, volume of 
common geometric objects (2-d and 3-d objects); know the Pythagorean 
theorem; 
identify and draw radius, diameter, chord, angle bisectors, perpendicular 
bisectors; congruent and what congruence means
