Class RulesClassroom Management: The MAP team believes in creating a positive and engaging classroom environment. 1. Use an indoor voice. (Say this rule in a whisper voice.) 2. Listen when someone is speaking. (Cup your ear when saying this rule.) 3. Raise your hand to share ideas. (Raise hand when saying this rule.) 4. Treat others with kindness. (Draw a heart in the air.) 5. Follow directions. (March in place.) We have multiple rewards for positive behavior. These rewards consist of verbal praise, stickers, SLE cards, treasure box items and fuzzy wuzzies. Students receive rewards for following the rules. Students will learn the rules and hand motions that go with the rules on the first day of school and we will review the rules every day at calendar time. If a student misbehaves, they will be asked to make better choice. If the misbehavior continues, the child may be lose a privilege or be asked to take some quiet time at their seat, so they are not taking away from the other learners. The teacher then may quietly speak with the child one-on-one and re-direct the behavior. Depending on the situation and the nature of the problem, the parents and/or principal are contacted if additional support is needed. |
