School Wide Outreach Projects § October—Pennies from Heaven and the Hunger Walk
Each student will be given a plastic baby bottle which they can fill with coins. The money collected will be used to support struggling mothers and their newborn babies. The baby bottles will be sent home on Wednesday, October 1st. Tijuana Christmas details will be forthcoming. § November—Thanksgiving Food Drive and the FAM Hunger Walk Faculty, staff, students and parents will collect food items for the pantry at Family Assistance Ministries here in § December—Angel Tree—Families can take an ornament from the Christmas tree in the outer office and purchase a gift for an adult or child served by Family Assistance Ministries. The unwrapped gift can be placed under the tree and all gifts will be delivered to FAM on December 20th. Families will be able to adopt a FAM family, if they chose. § January/February—Food for FAM Fridays—On January 16th and February 20th each student will be asked to bring a can of beans, tuna, or jar of peanut butter. Their reward—FREE DRESS. § March/April—Operation Rice Bowl—Each family will be given a small rice bowl is which to place their offerings during the Lenten season. The money collected will be sent to Catholic Relief Services to support their work with the poor and neglected in every part of the world. § May—Peace Month—The entire school will share the story of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. Each class will fold one hundred paper cranes and pray for peace throughout the world. The cranes will be hung on a banner and some will be sent to the Children’s’ Peace Memorial in
