What will the 6th Graders be studying in history this year?

This year the 6th graders will be studying the ancient world. Our journey will
cover Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China, Greece, Israel, and Rome through the
rise of Christianity. The first half of the book is divided into units based
on where the civilization was. The second half of the book looks at the
foundation of the Western world, our religions, our laws and our culture.

What will the 7th Graders be studying in history this year?

This year the 7th graders will be studying World history from the Fall of
Ancient Rome to the Rise of European power in the 1700's. We will start by
looking at the fall of the Roman Empire and the rise of Islam and the Muslim
Empires of Asia and Africa. We will also spend time looking at China and
Japan, Medieval Europe, the Renaissance, the Scientific Revolution, the
Reformation, and Ancient America.

What will the 8th Graders be studying in history this year?

The 8th graders will be studying U.S. History this year. We will begin with
the events leading to the American Revolution and the writing of the
Constitution. We will then look at the expansion of the United States across
the continent and the growth of the different regions. The 8th graders will
also spend time on the Civil War and its aftermath. We will end the year with
the post Civil War progressive era, ending in the early 1900's.

What does Mr. Dyer do in his free time?

Free time?  When school is done I spend time with my wife, my daughter
Sophia,and my dog Brody. When there is time I like to read, camp, and cook. I
am trying to find time to train for another Triathlon next summer.
