Our Language Arts Series is called "Treasures."
There are 10 units organized around themes.

Unit10 - I know a Lot!
We will be reading many stories in many genres. Each week we will read books that are fiction and non-
fiction. Many stories will reach across the curriculum and cover content ares of Social Studies, Science,
and Art.
We will be working on the alphabet, letter sounds, rhyming words, and grammar. We will be writing in a
journal most days. We will be working on reading High Frequency words.
As soon as your child begins to know some of the basic high frequency words, they will be taking home
S.W.R.L. books that they will read at home. Once mastered, they will return the book to read to me,a
teacher assistant, or a parent volunteer, and if they are fluent (reading without sounding out words or
guessing) they will move onto the next book.
