Henry, my Wheaten Terrier mutt.

Is he cute enough to be our class
mascot?

Henry again. My sweet, silly boy.

I adopted Henry from the East Valley animal shelter a few years ago.

More of Henry...

I can never get enough of this cutie.

Max and Daisy...best friends!

I adopted these two from the West Valley animal shelter this past summer (2010). Goofy Max is 10 years old and sweet Daisy is 13 years old. Someone dumped the two of them together at the pound. They had been there for a month and were going to be killed if they weren't adopted, which is, unfortunately, the fate of an estimated 4 million shelter animals per year in the U.S.

Daisy

My sweet girl.

October 1 update: Sad news...
Daisy passed away last week. I knew she was sick and elderly when I adopted her, but I had hoped her new home with me and the care that I gave her would help her to be happy and healthier. She certainly blossomed into a happy girl, and her health even improved for a few weeks, but ultimately, she was too sick to make it. I'm glad she at least got to live her last few months surrounded by love.

Max

I call Max "Maxy Whacksy" or "Smacksy Maxy" because his tail wags non-stop, and he smacks everyone with it. He's a very happy boy now that he has a place to call home sweet home.

I only went out for a walk and
finally concluded to stay
out 'till sundown, for going out,
I found, was really going in.

Later in the year, we will take photos of each period to post. Consent forms for class photos will be sent home.
