We are finished with the Native American reports and the children should
start taking home their projects. Reports with their grades will be in the
next Wednesday folders.
In math we are moving on in multiplication, which I know all the children
are very eager to be doing higher levels in multiplication.
The students will have a Sundae party as soon as they finish their 11s.
We are very lucky to have won the "Box Top" contest as the TEAM parents will
give our class a sundae party. So we will combine this with our multiplication
achievement.
Please help your children memorize the multiplication facts. One way is
using flash cards or rolling die. I would like each student to have a set of
flash cards available in the classroom. Also each child needs to have a ruler
so they can measure away.
In social studies we will be working on Native American Indian tribes and
in science a weather unit, sound unit, space unit and later on a unit on owls.
Creative writing and letter writing will be a big part of our curriculum
over the next few months.
We started The Mouse and the Motorcycle by Beverly Cleary as a class.
They had their first quiz on chapters 1-5 and did pretty well.
They will also be working on writing short chapter summaries.
Every Monday is AR quiz day for those students who want to take a quiz on
a chapter book.
