be "Amnesty Day" for any of my students who earned a "D" or "F" on the first
6-week progress report grade. You must attend from 230-430 pm. This is an
opportunity to make-up some missed work from the last 6 weeks.
Posted March 18, 2010 - We are currently studying the Legislative Branch of
the U.S. Government. We have examined the qualifications and
responsibilities of Senators and Representatives. We will finish viewing Mr.
Smith Goes to Washington. Please make sure that video guide is complete. We
will discuss the expressed, implied, and inherent powers of the Legislative
branch and discuss whether the scenario in Mr.Smith could possibly happen
today. Next week: Elections/gerrymandering.
After Spring Break: Executive Branch and Judicial Branch. Also,
understanding Civil Liberties and Civil Rights cases and how major Supreme
Court Cases changed the economic, social, and political landscape in America.
Second Semester with Mrs. Aguirre- students will have same teacher entire
year.
