Teaching is my passion and I have been teaching at Rancho
Elementary School since 2000.
Before I became a teacher, I worked as a research scientist for eleven years.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Bacteriology and a Master of
Education degree in Science and Mathematics Education. I also have a GATE
certificate. I attended the Williamsburg Teacher Institute and
I have incorporated wonderful resources and activities from the institute
into the fifth grade history curriculum.
Our theme this year is relationships. We will be exploring the relationship
between atoms, the building blocks of matter, and elements, body systems,
weather patterns, and the solar system. We will investigate the relationships
formed between people of the new and old worlds that helped or hindered
colonization, as well as the political, social, and economic relationships
that forged the policies that resulted in American independence from England.
As we journey through this important 5th grade year, we will build a
foundation for academic success, experience the past through hands-on
activities, discover new interests, and build lasting relationships with our
classmates.
