I have been teaching elementary students for 14 years, two years with second
graders and 11 years with third graders, and now enjoying the new experience
of fourth grade. I am ready for the new experiences of this grade level.
The students come to fourth grade with the added confidence of an experienced
reader. They should now read expository text and know their
multiplication and division facts; and will use these skills to perfect and
enhance their learning experiences. I like having a positive impact in
shaping their character and love of learning.
I enjoy teaching all the subjects, but like mathematics, and writing
instruction the most. Fourth grade builds on the skills that they have been
taught the previous years.
They come in fluent readers, adding to fluency and comprehension, and
by the end of the school year they are learning independently through reading
of expository text and writing research papers. It is an exciting and
productive time in a child's life
