About The Teacher

Welcome Aboard! So who am I? Hmmm... Best way to get to know me is to come to
class! Everyone is welcome to come help out. Volunteering is one of the best
ways to get to know our class. If you have the time to come help us out, you
will be rewarded by the smiles of all the children in our class.

I have been with Raymond Case for 6 years having taught kindergarten, first,
fourth, and fifth grades. It has become like a second family for me. I have
taught preschool through 8th Grade Life Science and even adults on occasion
when I worked with the American Red Cross.

My degree from San Jose State is in Natural Science. I taught in Arizona
before joining the Red Cross. I was with them for 11 years working with
disaster services and the military. I have traveled to many parts of the
United States and around the world. With Disaster Services, I would go out on
major disasters in the US after hurricanes or tornadoes. Mostly, I would work
locally with flooding and house fires.

Working with the military, I was with emergency communications to help
families connect with their service person during an emergency. I traveled to
Korea where I lived for a year by the DMZ on Camp Stanley and I went to
Kosovo on a peacekeeping mission to Camp Bondsteel. I also was stationed
stateside with the Marines for 3 years at Camp Lejeune, NC and with the Army
at Ft. Sill, OK. My background with emergency services is very strong and
hope to get back into someday when I go off track for short periods of time.

I have one son, Kristian, who is an environmental engineer with Sacramento
County. I have fond memories of him even at 2 yrs. old playing in the dirt
exploring whatever was in the nearest ditch while camping, so I guess he
comes by the job naturally!

For fun, I like to go camping or be anywhere outside from a beach to the
forest. I sew and do a variety of crafts like painting or making jewelry. I
might even be seen quilting, knitting, or weaving.

Picture is from the cave's trip in fourth grade. I am very claustrophobic, so
I had to go and gain my courage before taking my class! I found I LOVED it!
Couldn't wait to go back!!! Besides, they had a DRAGON!!!!

Mission For The Class

To grow and learn... to help each other achieve what we didn't think was
possible one step at a time.
