From the RMS Handbook, "Students come to school to learn. Teachers come to school to teach. Anything that keeps these things from happening is not appropriate."

Room 8 Rules

1. Be Respectful:

ü Treat people the way you want to be treated

ü It’s ok to disagree, but no put downs

ü Everyone is safe in our room

ü Do not talk unless it is part of the assignment or activity

2. Arrive on Time:

ü Be in your seat when the bell rings or you are tardy

ü Enter the room quietly if you are late, do not interrupt

3. Arrive Prepared

ü Books and supplies

ü Pencil sharpened before class

ü Completed homework

ü Positive attitude

ü Water Bottles are allowed (especially on hot days)

4. Remain Seated

ü We will have stretch breaks during passing period

ü Wait for recess, lunch or passing period for bathroom or water breaks

ü Have all materials with you so you do not need to get up

ü Pencils are sharpened before class, not during

ü No one will be allowed to leave the room without the Hall Pass

5. Follow Directions

ü Listen carefully to all directions

ü Allow others to listen to all directions

ü Attempt a problem or question before asking the teacher

ü Stay on task

The following are not welcome/allowed in our classroom:

                Toys                Electronics (on Electronic Days they must remain “off” and in backpacks)         

                Gum or Shelled Foods

                Inappropriate language
