Evaluating Effort and Citizenship

 

 Effort

 

5 – Excellent: Denotes that the pupils apply excellent effort and is working to the maximum of their ability.

 

4 – Above Average: Denotes that the pupils’ efforts in relation to their ability are above average.

 

3 – Average: Denotes that pupils are making satisfactory effort in relation to ability.

 

2 – Below Average: Denotes that pupils demonstrate below average effort in relation to their ability.

 

1 – Failure: Denotes that pupils fail to exercise any effort in relation to their ability.

 

 

 Citizenship

 

A STUDENT WHO EARNS AN “E” GRADE IS ONE WHO:

 

Contributes actively and creatively to the progress of the class.

 

Takes leadership but will also follow both student and teacher leaders.

 

Contributes unselfishly to the welfare of the class both in ideas and in effort.

 

Makes a maximum contribution in relation to both their own growth and the total situation.

 

Good citizenship implies more than passive compliance with regulations and requirements.

 

Good citizenship should meet the highest standards of both students and teachers.

 

A STUDENT WHO EARNS AN “S” GRADE IS ONE WHO:

 

Contributes actively to the progress of the class and exhibits above average cooperation.

 

Is concerned with maintaining standards of good citizenship in the classroom.

 

Cooperates with the requests of others.

 

Uses their time and materials wisely and with reasonable effectiveness.

 

Will sometimes take leadership and will also follow both students and teacher.

 

Contributes to the progress of the class.

 

A STUDENT WHO EARNS AN “N” GRADE IS ONE WHO:

 

Sometimes fails to maintain standards of good citizenship.

 

Forgets occasionally to recognize the rights of others.

 

Needs to improve their attitude and behavior.

 

Has sporadic attendance.

 

A STUDENT WHO EARNS A “U” GRADE IS ONE WHO:

 

Consistently refuses to observe the reasonable standards of classroom conduct..

 

Refuses to recognize the rights of others.
