Greetings!
I wish to extend a warm welcome to you and your child upon entering 6th grade
at Richardson Middle School. I know the transition from elementary to middle
school is major; therefore the staff here will do everything possible to make
this a painless adjustment.
I teach 6th grade Social Studies and ELA. Please read the "Social Studies
Syllabus" and/or "ELA Syllabus" sections on this website (whichever apply) to
become familiar with my course outlines and requirements. At the end of each
you will find a short form for you to print out and return to me with your
signature, assuring me that you understand the expectations of each class.
Other options are to write me a quick note or e-mail me (top right icon on
home page) or send to gnowak@etusd.org.
The key to success at RMS, as well as in my classroom, is twofold. The first
key is in taking responsibility for assigned work. this means that all
homework must be fully completed and turned in on time. Your involvement with
homework completion would be greatly appreciated. This can be done through
the daily planner and this website (Teacherweb). The second key is in taking
responsibility for appropriate personal behavior. Simply put this means that
the teacher is allowed to teach and all students are allowed to learn at all
times within the school environment. Failure to adhere to this policy will
result in defined consequences.
This website is designed to keep you informed. Check the "Announcements" and
"Homework" sections daily. Be sure to sign up for "Parent Connect" to stay
informed about grades and ongoing progress. You will need to retrieve a "pin"
from the office in order to use Parent Connect.
Please check the "Supplies" heading of this website for required materials.
Prompt provision of these would be helpful.
The "Newsflash" section of this website is also extremely important. Simply
click on it and enter your contact information. Any time I have important
news to relate I can send it to you automatically if you register for this
feature.

information about these classes. When you have read the information either
e-mail me, drop me a note or print out & sign the bottom of each of those
pages. I keep a record to make sure that all parents have read this information.
