Mon. May 14 -
Many students have used the class computer time wisely to complete the STUDY
ISLAND categories opened for the year. A BLUE RIBBON is required for all the
6th and 7th grade standards. Every student has seen and already started
trying to get the blue ribbon for each topic that will be part of the CST's
for 8th grade where all California students are tested in 6th, 7th, and 8th
grade combined California standards. You can read the lesson, students have
been shown how to do so, if you want to refresh your memory and more on the
subject.
THE BLUE RIBBON ON ALL TOPICS WILL BE DUE FRIDAY MAY 25TH.
EXPLORATION VOCABULARY DUE FRIDAY( WITH PICTURES)..IT IS REALLY SHORT. ALL
CLASSES WILL MEET ON FRIDAY.
Mon. May 21- Scientific, Enlightenment, Exploration test Tuesday.
We worked on the study guide today..test is matching,
multiple choice, a chart and a map to analyze.
Tues.-Fri. May 25 - students looked at study island today to see what blue
ribbons they needed to complete. Some are finished, most
are at least half completed.
Tues. -Wed. - packets due Thursday. If you have any uncompleted work,
now is the time.
We will begin Maya, Aztec, Inca on Wednesday May 23. You will receive the
directions for a brochure due end of the unit on June 1st. Directions are
below in case you misplace them.
MAYA, AZTEC, INCA BROCHURE (40 pts.)
Instructions: You will create a brochure bringing together your knowledge of
the Maya, Aztec and Inca civilizations. You will be provided with paper in
class. We will take notes in class for you to use on your brochure. Your
brochure can by typed or written.
Cover: The cover panel will need a neat, appropriate title and pictures that
represent each of the three civilizations.
Each Panel: You will write/type information about each of the civilizations.
You will need to write about the following information for each of the three
civilizations.
Categories:
1.Time and Place ( capital, geography)
2.Social classes/customs
3.Religious rituals, beliefs
4.Political organization/ important leaders
5.Achievements
6.Decline & Fall
Each panel needs to have at least 3 pictures about the particular
civilization
(you can use the back panels as well)
This project will be due Friday June 1st when we finish the Inca civilization.
