Curriculum
As outlined in the California Standards and Frameworks.
Materials/Supplies
•	Textbook - Mathematics: Concepts and Skills 
•	3-Ring Binder with dividers and paper (plain, lined and quad) 
•	Spiral-Bound notebook for Math Notes 
•	Pencils, erasers, red pen (required for correcting), colored pencils 
•	Ruler 
•	Calculator (inexpensive, very basic) 
•	Dry Erase (Whiteboard) Marker
•	Whiteboard Eraser (a clean sock or washcloth works well)
Any student who needs help acquiring school supplies may see me privately.
Homework
Assigned Monday through Friday, due the next day  or as directeed.
Done in pencil and corrected in red pen. Students are to correct the odd 
numbered problems (answers are in the back of the textbook) as they do the 
assignment. 
Make-Up Work - Any work missed due to an absence is to be made up. Students 
are responsible for finding out what was missed, and how to make it up. 
Students will have until the Monday following their return from an excused 
absence to turn it in complete for full credit.

Assessment:
 
Achievement Grade is based on the following:
-  Tests and Quizzes
- Class work and class participation.
-  Notebook
-  Homework

Effort Grade is based on the following:
-	Effort put into completing HW and CW assignments.
-	Attitude and preparation for class.
-	Asking for help when needed – (Students are encouraged to ask for 
help when needed).

Citizenship Grade is based on the following:
-	Following Classroom rules.
-	Cooperation.
-	Punctuality.


Student Responsibilities
•	Attend class every day; it is hard to catch up when a student has 
missed a lesson, video, test or activity. 
•	Arrive on time, prepared and ready to learn. 
•	If absent, get notes, handouts and make up assignments and 
tests/quizzes on time. 
•	Treat others with care and respect. 
•	Treat the property of others with care and respect. 
•	 Students are encouraged to ask for extra help when needed.

Keeping open lines of communication is vital to the parent-teacher-student 
team and there are several ways we can communicate:
