What do I do about missing work when I am absent?
When you are absent, you have ONE day for every day you were out
to make up
your work. It is up to you to come to me or a responsible
classmate and ask for your missing work.
If you do not come and ask for it, it will be recorded
as "missing."
When do we get progress reprorts?
Every four weeks I will send them home with students to have
parents sign
and return.
What does my GPA need to be to run for an ASB position?
You must have a 3.0 GPA to be eligible to run for an ASB office.
Can I bring my cell phone to school?
Yes, you may bring your cell phone to school, BUT it must be on
OFF while you are in school AND IN YOUR BACKPACK. If you are caught using your cell
phone, texting in class, or just have it out of your backpack,
it will be taken away and your parents will be able to retrieve
it from the office after school that day.
If you are caught with it again, you may not bring it to school
again.
How do I know what my child has for homework?
Your child may purchase an Agenda (for $7.00) at the
beginning of the year from PTA to write his/her homework in everyday.
How do I contact you (Mrs. Cohen) if I am at home?
If you need to ask me something right away, call me at 626-215-
3484. If you need to send me your work or have a question I can
answer later, click the "email" button on my website and send me
your work or ask your question there, I will get back to you as
soon as possible. Parents may contact me at this email as well.
How do I get into AVID?
The recruitment process for AVID will begin in mid February of
each year. You must apply, then meet certain requirements to be approved by the AVID
Site Team, interviewed by the Coordinator/Site Team members, and once the
selection is over, you will be advised of your acceptance. More details of
this process will be given as the day gets closer.
To apply throughout the year, you must see Mrs. Cohen first.
